‘Mary Poppins’ to grace Mars High stage

Mars Area High School will stage the musical “Mary Poppins” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, March 1 and at 1 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets, which are $15 for reserved seating, can be purchased at showtix4u.com/event-details/79699. A portion of the proceeds benefits the Mars Planet Foundation.

Student director is Lillyanna Staines. Student costume designer is Alyssa Hipsky. Student stage director is Lauren Roush, and student stage manager is Miles Stoops.

The show follows iconic nanny, Mary Poppins, as she and jack-of-all-trades, Bert, take young Jane and Michael Banks on a series of magical and memorable adventures through 1910 England.

Using a combination of magic and common sense, Mary Poppins teaches the family how to value one another again.
