Shapiro administration announces tuition assistance for EMS professionals
Pennsylvania’s Department of Health announced a $1 million tuition assistance program on Friday to assist emergency medical service professionals across the state.
The program will be funded by $1 million from the state’s Fireworks Tax Act per year for the next three years. Any Pennsylvania resident who obtained a state certification as an emergency medical responder, emergency medical technician, or paramedic after July 1 is eligible to have part of their tuition reimbursed.
In addition, Pennsylvania EMS agencies are eligible to receive up to $1,250 worth of reimbursement of expenses related to talent recruitment and retention.
