Clarion ends winless streak at SRU’s expense

CLARION — Malyziah Etheredge came off the bench to score 18 points and grab nine rebounds Wednesday night as Clarion ended a 26-game losing streak with an 82-64 women’s basketball win over Slippery Rock University.

While the Golden Eagles moved to 1-25 overall and 1-19 in PSAC play, SRU slipped to 2-20, 2-17.

Kristina Donza led The Riock offensively with 17 points. Regan Atkins put together her second career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Deryn Moore scored a career-high 14 points.

Slippery Rock High School graduate Hallie Raabe scored a career-high seven points as well.

The Rock’s women’s and men’s teams return home Saturday to face Indiana (Pa.) University. The women’s game is at 1 p.m., the men’s game at 3 p.m.
