Some say the fastest way to a person’s heart is through their stomach, and a group of aspiring bakers took that advice at a cookie-making class Saturday afternoon, Feb. 3, at the Cranberry Township Municipal Center.
The class was led by Jamie Wadowsky, owner of Call Me Crazy Cookie Lady, who taught a group made up of adults and children how to craft and frost cookies to appeal to sweets-lovers for Valentine’s Day.
Wadowsky demonstrated to attendees how to explore basic outlining and flooding techniques which would help the participants create “cute cookies to take home to family and friends.”
This class focused on sectioning, wet-on-wet techniques and the use of royal icing transfers to embellish frosted cookies. The outlined, step-by-step instructions came with the class, along with the cookie dough for molding and baking.
In the end, a handful of people left with boxes of cookies shaped like gnomes and hearts.
