Gov. Shapiro extends Pennie enrollment deadline to Jan. 19

Eligible Pennsylvanians now have four extra days to get enrolled for Pennie health coverage. The 2024 open enrollment period for Pennie has been extended to Friday, Jan. 19.

In most years, the open enrollment period ends on Jan. 15. This year, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, the third Monday of January, happens to fall on that day.

According to an official statement, those who qualify for Pennie health coverage save an average of $500 a month.

Anyone who misses the deadline will have to wait until November to enroll, barring exceptional circumstances.

“We have seen a record number of Pennsylvanians enrolling through Pennie,” said executive director Devon Trolley. “Enrolling in coverage now is the best way to protect your health and your savings in 2024.”
