Harmony to host German Christmas Market

Karl Lukitsch of the Pittsburgh-based German-style band Autobahn plays the accordion for attendees of the Harmony Christmas market Saturday.

The Harmony Museum's German Christmas Market will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10.

Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for Harmony Museum members, students and senior citizens. The event is free for children 12 and younger. The entrance fee provides all-day access to the market, entertainment and wagon rides in Harmony’s National Historic Landmark District.

The “WeihnachtsMarkt” showcases German heritage with traditional music, food and unique gifts. Highlights of the event will include museum exhibits, including the Ziegler Log Cabin and George Washington’s Cabin, along with local offerings of wine, moonshine and glühwein, a mulled wine.

Parking is free and will be clearly marked around town. A free shuttle service will be provided to take visitors to the entrance.
