Sentence Court

The following defendants were sentenced Aug. 19 in Butler County Common Pleas Court by Judge Kelley Streib.

Anthony Cicolini, 52, of Natrona Heights was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in prison followed by six months of probation, pay a $1,000 fine and complete litter pick-up and a victim impact panel after pleading guilty to charges of driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia filed by state police following a Sept. 30, 2020, incident.

Hunter Tyler Gruver, 25, of Butler was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 180 days of house arrest, pay fines totaling $2,500 and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service and a victim impact panel after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by state police following a Sept. 3, 2021, incident.

Benjamin Owens, 31, of Cranberry Township was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to a charge of simple assault filed by Cranberry Township police following a Sept. 1, 2021, incident.

Gilbert R. Gans, 39, of Butler was sentenced to serve 18 to 36 months in prison, but was immediately paroled to serve 12 months of probation after pleading no contest to a felony charge of conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to deliver filed by Butler City police following a Feb. 17, 2021, incident.

Dominic Demetrius Brackins, 34, of Butler was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and pay a $25 fine after pleading guilty to charges in three cases. He pleaded guilty to charges of disorderly conduct and possession of drug paraphernalia filed by Butler City police, and a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude police filed by state police.

Daniel S. Schmiedel, 36, of Evans City was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 60 days of house arrest, pay a $750 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, litter pick-up, 40 hours of community service and a victim impact panel after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by Evans City Seven Fields Regional police following a March 4 incident.

Devin James Smith, 35, of Butler was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 14 days of house arrest, pay a $300 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service and a victim impact panel after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by Butler City police following a Feb. 11 incident.

Jeffrey S. Checkan, 54, of Butler was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 14 days of house arrest, pay a $1,000 fine and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service and a victim impact panel after pleading guilty to a charge of DUI filed by Butler Township police following a Feb. 17 incident.

Nathan Daniels Cornetti, 30, of Butler was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 115 days of house arrest, pay fines totaling $2,900, and complete alcohol highway safety school, 40 hours of community service and a victim impact panel after pleading guilty to his first and second DUI offenses. State police filed charges for the first DUI offense following a Nov. 20, 2020, incident, and Butler City police filed charges for the second DUI offense following an Aug. 7, 2021, incident.

Scott Alan Ganss, 32, of Gibsonia was sentenced to serve six months of probation after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia filed by state police following a July 7, 2021, incident.

Stephanie Renee Steiger, 36, of Butler was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and pay a $50 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of obstructing the administration of law filed by Butler City police following an Aug. 24, 2021, incident.

Tyler Walter Allen Smith, 25, of East Brady was sentenced to serve 72 hours to 12 months in prison, pay a $1,000 fine and complete 40 hours of community service and a victim impact panel after pleading guilty to charges of DUI and possession of a controlled substance filed by state police following a March 15 incident.

Tiffany Rose Mullen, 33, of Butler was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and pay a $25 fine after pleading guilty to a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia filed by Butler Township police following a July 11, 2017, incident. Streib commended her for completing the county’s drug treatment court.

Danielle Lynn Napier, 38, of Butler was sentenced to serve 36 months of probation after pleading guilty to a felony charge of conspiracy to possess a controlled substance with intent to deliver filed by county detectives following a Jan. 14, 2019, incident. Streib commended her for completing the county’s drug treatment court.

Robby Lee Dunbar Jr., 31, of Butler was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation after pleading guilty to a charge of hindering apprehension filed by state police following a March 2 incident. Streib commended him for completing the county’s drug treatment court.
