Richard ‘Dickey’ Lauth

Lauth

Richard “Dickey” Collins Lauth, 63, of Ross Township, Allegheny County, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh after a sudden brain trauma.

He was reunited in heaven into the loving arms of his late father, Bernard E. Lauth Jr. He is survived by his mother, Shirley E. Lauth; his sister, Debbie Sue “NaNa” Lauth Croyle; his nieces, Lauren (Jacob) Wurman and Kimberly Croyle; his nephew, Brandon Croyle; his great-nephews, Sawyer and Cooper Wurman; his cousin, Gretchen (Jim) Moran; and many other cousins.

Even though he was born with many physical and mental challenges, he conquered them all. Dickey made many friends throughout his life and even came in contact with some notables such as Liberace, Milton Berle and Pavarotti, whom he met when his dad took him to work with him at Heinz Hall where he worked as a technical supervisor with the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees Local No. 3.

Dickey was an avid swimmer and loved playing his piano and many other of his musical instruments. He also spent many hours listening to recorded music. You could say music was his favorite pastime.

In his childhood, Dickey resided with his family and as an adult moved into a community residence with two other housemates.

Dickey will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends.
