Seneca Valley High School’s junior varsity team stayed undefeated in its 1970 season when the boys beat Butler High School junior varsity squad 53-45 in the final two minutes of a Dec. 29 game.

It was a 45-45 deadlock in the final period until Seneca Valley players decided the game with a run of scoring, including three baskets by John Statzer, who topped the game with 19 points throughout the game.

Butler worked its way to a 13-8 lead in the first period, a lead the team maintained through the second quarter with a score of 28-24. Seneca Valley was able to tie up the game in the third period and come out on top in the final minutes of the game.
