Seven Fields: Northern Regional begins patrols Dec. 26

Northern Regional Police Department will officially begin patrols in Seven Fields on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at 7 a.m.

Mayor Dean Galitsis and council shared the news this week, following the borough’s Dec. 11 ratification of a $650,000 agreement with department.

Patrols were initially planned to begin Jan. 1.

Northern Regional formally ratified its own end of the four-year agreement on Dec. 14.

Based in Allegheny County, the regional department now represents Pine, Marshall and Richland townships, as well as the boroughs of Bradford Woods and Seven Fields.

Negotiations surrounding the dissolution of the Evans City-Seven Fields Regional Police Department are ongoing.

The borough’s new police Chief John Sicilia said Monday that the department anticipates a “seamless transition,” with a meeting planned Thursday, Dec. 21, to figure out the remaining details ahead of patrols.
