A Holiday Open House will be held Dec. 17 at the historic Foltz School in Brady Township.

Jennings Environmental Education Center will open the historic Foltz School, nestled at the edge of the Jennings property along Route 8 in Brady Township, from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17. There will be light refreshments and activities.

The quaint, recently restored one-room schoolhouse offers a glimpse into the past. Knowledgeable volunteers will give brief descriptions of what an education in a one-room schoolhouse was like and answer questions.

Authentic artifacts from the time when the school was in operation are on hand at the school, including antique desks, textbooks and school supplies.

Information also will be shared on the preservation and restoration of the building.

There is no registration or cost to attend the holiday open house.
