Fraternal organizations at Butler County Community College sent students off for the holiday break with a bang in December 1970.
Buildings had been decorated with lights, and winter scenes had been set up outside by members of the college’s Sigma Lambda Chi fraternity and Theta Lambda Chi sorority.
The college’s Conservation Club also installed a tree, which would be planted on campus after winter break. The fraternal organizations also set up a dance to close the semester, and Theta Lambda Chi sent cookies to local servicemen.
Additionally, the student Senate put up felt stockings, Santa faces, hand-decorated ornaments, tinsel and lights.
