Maddy Gauselmann, a junior at Slippery Rock Area High School, completed the program at the FBI teen academy held Oct. 26 in Monroeville.

Students ages 15 to 18 learned about careers in law enforcement and engaged with FBI agents and leaders to learn about case studies, crime prevention, evidence gathering and investigative techniques related to criminal activity.

Maddy also was selected to attend CSI camp, held in June at Waynesburg University. The camp is sponsored by retired FBI agents. Only 50 students in the region are selected for the camp.

Students chosen for CSI camp explored all aspects of investigations, from forensics to surveillance to arrest warrants. They also took part in a burial excavation.

Maddie is the daughter of Dana and Patrick Gauselmann of Prospect.
