Butler County Symphony Orchestra closes out 2023 with ‘Christmas at the Movies’

The Butler County Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the holiday season Dec. 2 with the “Christmas at the Movies” concert, the third concert in the orchestra’s 2023-24 six-show season.

The concert will feature selections from a variety of classic Christmas movies, including “Home Alone,” “The Grinch,” “It’s a Wonderful Life,” “Frozen,” “A Charlie Brown Christmas” and “The Polar Express.”

Each show on the orchestra’s schedule has a special guest conductor, and this month it will be Moon Doh, associate conductor with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. Doh also served as guest conductor for the Butler orchestra’s previous concert, “Brahms, Strauss, & Debussy” on Nov. 4.

The Dec. 2 concert kicks off at 7:30 p.m. As with all regular season concerts, this one will take place at the auditorium at Butler Intermediate High School. Advance tickets are $30 each for adults and $10 each for children and students, while day-of tickets are $35 for adults and $12 for children and students.
