Independence Health System
In June 2022, two like-minded health systems announced their intent to come together with the goal of creating a new and distinct health care choice for patients in Western Pennsylvania.
In January, that goal became a reality.
Now, Independence Health System, which includes Butler, Clarion, Frick, Latrobe and Westmoreland hospitals, stands as the third largest in Western Pennsylvania. With 7,300 employees and more than 1,000 physicians and advanced practice providers, it serves a population base of 750,000 spanning more than 10 counties.
