Scoop aims to continue stride

My flawless streak ended last week, but a solid 10-1 performance has my season record at 75-21.

I was striving for more this year and hopes of reaching my goal of 100 wins were dashed long ago. But I have a lot of pride and am determined to finish the 2023 season in style.

We're down to nine games this week, the last slate of games before the postseason begins. Here's my take on Week 10.

Latrobe at Butler — The Wildcats are playoff-bound and looking for momentum. They’ll find it Friday night.

Score: Latrobe 33-15

North Allegheny at Seneca Valley — NA’s lone setback this season came against an incredibly strong Central Catholic team. The Raiders stay with the Tigers for a while, but NA wears down SV.

Score: North Allegheny 29-13

Mars at North Catholic — The winner of this game will claim the Greater Allegheny Conference championship. North is a strong team, but the Planets are playing at a different level.

Score: Mars 32-17

Knoch at Valley — After suffering their first conference loss of the season, the Knights get back on track against the Vikings.

Score: Knoch 34-14

Freeport at Deer Lakes — The gritty Yellowjackets will give the Lancers all they can handle, but the balance Deer Lakes has on offense will be the difference.

Score: Deer Lakes 23-17

Mount Union at Karns City — Needing a win to reach the District 9 playoffs, the injury-plagued Gremlins come up short.

Score: Mount Union 30-18

Moniteau at Keystone — Winless in their previous seven games, the Warriors have a chance to keep Keystone out of the postseason. Desperation wins out.

Score: Keystone 27-12

Punxsutawney at Union/A-C Valley — A good Class 1A team hosting a very good Class 3A team. In this case, size matters.

Score: Punxsutawney 35-19

Union at Summit Academy — A very stiff test with which to close the season for the Knights.

Score: Union 38-6

Scoop has a futures bet on the Arizona Diamondbacks to win it all
