SNAP benefit specifications to change
The U.S Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition Services’ Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program income and benefit limits have changed.
SNAP benefit levels may increase as a result of these updates, but no one will experience a decrease in benefits, according to a news release from the state Department of Human Services.
“SNAP is the nation’s most important anti-hunger program that helps more than 1.9 million Pennsylvanians to afford food for themselves and their families, and these updates to SNAP benefits will help recipients to expand their purchasing power and meet their nutrition needs,” Dr. Val Arkoosh, Department of Human Services secretary said.
From Oct. 1 through Sept. 30, 2024, households with one person and a maximum gross monthly income of $2,430 are eligible for SNAP benefits.
The threshold increases by $858 per additional member of the household.
