PumpkinFest to fill Evans City with fun, activities
The second annual Evans City PumpkinFest will include a host of activities to delight all autumn lovers.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 23, and 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 24, in Evans City.
Organizer Katie Gilronan said last year’s event drew around 3,000 people, and this year’s event will be even bigger.
New activities and events have been added, including Pittsburgh Pumpkin Guy, a renowned pumpkin carver who will demonstrate his craft on both days of the festival.
A glass-blowing demonstration also will take place Saturday.
Other events planned for the festival include free pumpkin carriage rides; a car cruise on Sunday; live local bands; free children’s activities, such as foam parties, pumpkin painting, and a tractor pull; and Sirkus Days with stilt walkers and Hula-Hoopers.
