It is the 22nd anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. In addition to the a memorial set up by the Pine-Richland/Mars Area U.S. Air Force JROTC, the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company will commemorate those lost.

Events for the day include a flag-raising at sunrise, 6:57 a.m., with setup starting at 6:30 a.m. Taps will be played at the memorial at the significant times throughout the morning, by assistant chief John Pristas. Retiring of the colors is set for sunset, which is 7:36 p.m.
