Butler earns girls golf win

Paige Ponteous carded a 42 and Macie McLister a 43 to lead Butler to a 188-228 girls golf victory over Kiski Area at Hiland Golf Course on Wednesday.

The Golden Tornado improved to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in section matches.

Fox Chapel 183, Butler 216 — Paige Ponteous shared medalist honors with a 45 at Pittsburgh Field Club, but the Golden Tornado fell to the Foxes.

Boys Golf

Mason Phillips carded a 38 to lead Knoch to a 215-255 victory over Valley. The Yellowjackets improved to 4-1 overall, 4-0 in section matches.

Aaron Voltz had a 42, Aiden Froedtert a 43, Paul Kuczynski 45 and Jeremy Scheridt 47. The Knights take on Freeport on Thursday at Buffalo Golf Course.

Girls Tennis

Kylie Staudt and Sydney Blucher both won in singles play in Seneca Valley’s 4-1 victory over West Allegheny on Tuesday.
