See baseball as it was played in the 1860s at Meadowcroft
History buffs and baseball fans can get seats at a 19th century baseball game during Vintage Base Ball Day at Meadowcroft Rockshelter and Historic Village in Washington County on Saturday, Aug. 19.
Baseball will be played using rules from the 1860s by vintage Pennsylvania teams: the Somerset Frosty Sons of Thunder and the Addison Mountain Stars.
The first ballgame will begin at 10:30 a.m. and the second will begin at 1 p.m. Visitors will be able to play a pickup game with help from staff following the second game.
Hot dogs and refreshments will be sold during the event. Visitors are also welcome to pack a picnic lunch and bring their own seating.
Vintage Base Ball Day is included with regular Meadowcroft admission.
