Cranberry receives over $165,000 in traffic safety grant
Cranberry Township received $165,600 Friday, Aug. 11, in Green Light-Go Grant Funds to improve traffic safety in the community.
The funding comes as the township prepares to expand its license plate recognition systems.
Cranberry was one of 77 municipalities across the state to receive the funding from Gov. Josh Shapiro’s administration. Awarded through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s Green Light-Go program, the grants totaled just over $35.5 million in the state for traffic safety projects.
Green Light-Go grants are provided as reimbursement to municipalities for updates to improve the efficiency and operation of existing traffic signals.
“Thanks to these grants, drivers and pedestrians are now safer,” Shapiro said in a statement, “and Pennsylvanians can get where they need to go quicker and more efficiently.”
