1 minor injured in Concord Township dirt bike crash

A minor was flown to the hospital the night of Wednesday, July 5, after a dirt bike crash in Concord Township, according to officials.

Crews were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. for reports of the single-vehicle crash at the intersection of Center Drive and Seven Hills Road.

Cody Craig, chief of Chicora Volunteer Fire Department, said Center Drive was shut down at the intersection for 40 minutes while clean up and an investigation ensued.

“The dirt bike was traveling north on Center Drive when the accident occurred ... it’s still under investigation,” he said.

The biker was a minor, according to Craig, and was taken by medical helicopter to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh for injuries.

A landing zone was set up in a field at the intersection, he added.

Craig said state police are still investigating the incident.

Karns City Regional Ambulance Service also responded to the scene.
