Edna Mae Knauer, 83, of Butler, passed away May 22, 2023, at her residence, surrounded by her daughter and granddaughters under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice.

She was born Nov. 30, 1939, in Prospect, and was the daughter of the late Merl McKinnis and the late Helen Barnhart McKinnis.

She was a member of Hill United Presbyterian Church.

Edna Mae worked as a school bus driver for STA in Prospect, retiring after 45 years of service for the Slippery Rock School District.

She enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family.

Edna Mae is survived by her daughter, Michele (Scott) Hull of Hamburg, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Danielle (Adam) Peffer of Butler and Lindsey Hull of Hamburg, N.Y.; two great-grandchildren, Riley Peffer and Colt Peffer; and a number nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bertram H. Knauer Jr., whom she married Dec. 16, 1961, and who passed away July 17, 2003; two infant twin brothers; seven sisters; and one brother.

KNAUER — Private services were held at the convenience of the family for Edna Mae Knauer, who died Monday, May 22, 2023.

Burial took place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Arrangements were entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
