Rose Marie Green, 86, of Butler, passed away, Sunday, May 21, 2023, at her home with her family by her side.

She was born May 17, 1937, in Detroit, Mich., and was a daughter of the late John Tatsak Jr. and Helen (Butler) Tatsak.

Rose was a 1955 graduate of Butler High School.

She was a homemaker and also had worked at Mellon Bank in the loan department.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish, St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, and the Christian Mothers at St. Mary’s. She was a devout Catholic with a strong faith.

She loved her family farm, where she enjoyed going for walks, spending time with her family and grandchildren and playing cards. Everyone who knew her loved and adored her.

Surviving are her daughters, Sharon Snyder, Carol A. (Scott) Medley and Lynn (John) Oswald, all of Butler; five grandsons, Evan (Hannah), Kyle and Derek (Mikayla) Oswald, Nicholas and Jacob Medley; one brother, William (Peg) Tatsak of Rochester, Pa.; one sister, Patricia Buchanan of Apollo; numerous nieces and nephews; and two granddogs, Reggie and Remy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony C. “Tony” Green, whom she married July 13, 1957, and who passed away June 22, 2014; and a brother, Jack, who was a young child.

GREEN — Friends of Rose Marie Green, who died Sunday, May 21, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Herman. The Rev. Matt McClain, pastor will officiate.

Interment will be in St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery.
