Albert Rodgers Jr.

Albert Joseph Rodgers Jr., 87, who retired as a Navy master chief in 1973, passed away on May 6, 2023, surrounded by his family.

He was born to Albert J. Rodgers and Susan A. Porach Rodgers.

He spent his military time on six naval ships, four included aircraft carriers, and he was involved in the 1962 Cuban missile crisis.

Albert spent 50 years in the Indianapolis area, with 24 years in Carmel, Ind.

Albert was a member of St. Monica Catholic Church for 50 years, was a 4th Degree Knight, and was invited to attend an Honor Flight to Washington, D.C., on Oct. 21, 2017.

Albert leaves behind his wife, Jacqueline B. Rodgers of Greenfield, Mass.; and five sons and their families, Albert J. and Susan Rodgers III of Knightstown, Ind., Stephen and Mary Lou Rodgers of San Diego, Calif., Barry K. Rodgers of Indianapolis, Ind., Michael and Susan Rodgers of Vista, Calif., and Kenneth and Pamela Rodgers of Brownsburg, Ind.; 30 grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces.

RODGERS — Visitation for Albert Joseph Rodgers Jr., who died Saturday, May 6, 2023, will be held from 10 a.m. until noon Friday, June 2, 2023, at St. Monica Catholic Church with a funeral Mass to follow at noon.

Inurnment will take place following the funeral Mass at 2 p.m. Friday at Crown Hill National Cemetery, 725 W. 42nd St., Indianapolis, Ind. Reception immediately following to be announced.
