Marilyn Ann Miller, 68, of Foster Road, Volant, passed away peacefully at home on May 13, 2023, surrounded by her family after an extended illness.

Marilyn was born in Pittsburgh, and was the daughter of the late John Theodore King and Ida Mae Weissert on Dec. 2, 1954. She married Rick Miller on Nov. 21, 1981.

Survivors in addition to her husband, Rick, include two daughters, Melissa R. (Rob) Reams and Susan M. (Wes) Day; one son, Thomas R. Miller; and one grandson, Robert Franklin Miller Reams.

Marilyn leaves five sisters, Mary Lou (Carmen) Muti, Martha Bogan, Janet McKnight, Elaine (Thomas) Pisarcik and Jane (Don) Dillner; seven brothers, John (Mary) King, Bill King, Theodore (Bev) King, Michael (Kathy) King, Joseph King, Mark (Amy) King and Matthew (Anita) King; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marilyn’s fondest memories are from growing up on her family farm in Valencia. She was a graduate of Mars High School.

She retired from the post office in Mercer as a rural carrier after 15 years.

Her favorite activities included spending time with her family and attending her children’s various school activities.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in New Wilmington.

She always looked forward to attending the King corn roast reunion every summer and spending time with her brothers and sisters. Marilyn worked with her family operating Miller’s Produce Farm, selling produce and flowers. Canning fruits and vegetables was one of her favorite hobbies and something she looked forward to each year. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandson and watching him run around the yard.

MILLER — The family of Marilyn Ann Miller, who died Saturday, May 13, 2023, will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with visitation one hour before the service at the United Methodist Church, Church Street, New Wilmington.

Interment will follow at Fair Oaks Cemetery in New Wilmington.

Memorial contributions can be made to the United Methodist Church in New Wilmington.
