Delores I. “Dee Dee” Hilgar, 93, of Butler, passed away on May 12, 2023, at Concordia Lutheran Ministries.

She was born Nov. 26, 1929, in Harmony Junction, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Ray Jackson and the late Laura (Lutz) Jackson. Delores was raised by Mr. and Mrs. Charles and Velma Lutz.

Delores was a member of the First Baptist Church and a member of the First Baptist Missionary Group.

She graduated from Butler High School in 1947.

Delores enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, reading and crocheting. She liked to take walks and enjoyed watching and feeding the birds.

Delores is survived by her five sons, Dale (Linda) Hilgar of Eau Claire, Ray (Valerie) Hilgar of Chicora, Keith Hilgar of Landrum, S.C., Vernon Hilgar of Butler, and Mark Hilgar and Kathy Long of Butler; her daughter, Laura (Randall) Wyant of Rochester, N.Y.; nine grandchildren, Leann Covert, Erin Wampler, Scott Hilgar, Jonathan Wyant, Cherith Shuboney, Emily Speck, Anna Boness, Christopher Hilgar and Dustin Hilgar; 19 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie L. Hilgar, whom she married on June 2, 1948, and who passed away on Feb. 18, 2010; two granddaughters, Andrea Hilgar and Sara Hilgar; one great-granddaughter, Violet Hilgar; and two sisters.

HILGAR — Friends of Delores I. “Dee Dee” Hilgar, who died Friday, May 12, 2023, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor David Maitland, of First Baptist Church, and Pastor Brian Lott, of New Testament Baptist Church and chaplain of Concordia, officiating.

Burial will take place in Butler County Memorial Park.

Memorial donations may be made to First Baptist Christian School, 221 W. New Castle St., Butler, PA 16001.
