Marlene R. McFeely, 91, of Grove City, passed peacefully on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

Marlene was born in Grove City on Jan. 11, 1932, the daughter of William and Ruth (Grundy) Richardson. she married Raymond D. “Rip” McFeely on Sept. 1, 1951. They were married for 58 years. Following their retirement, they wintered together in Sun City, Ariz., for nearly 20 years. Rip preceded her in death on May 12, 2009.

She retired from Slippery Rock Area Schools, where she was a second-grade teacher for many years. In her later years, her love of teaching continued. She taught family and friends various quilting and sewing techniques, canning, gardening, flowers, and shared her life experiences with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Marlene was an active member of The Church of The Beloved Disciple, Grove City.

She was a graduate of Grove City High School, attended Grove City College, and she received her bachelor’s and master’s from Slippery Rock University.

Marlene was active in many organizations, she volunteered, and she especially loved spending time with her friends and family.

She is survived by four children, Joan Hayes and husband Timothy, Wexford, Ann Puntureri, Mercer, William D. McFeely and wife, Debbie, Cochranton, and Dr. Patrick D. McFeely and wife Anne, Massillon, Ohio, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Richardson and wife, Jan, of North Carolina.

Her parents; a brother, William Richardson; a sister, Mary Elizabeth McDowell; and a son-in-law, Carl J. Puntureri, preceded her in death.

MCFEELY — Visitation for Marlene R. McFeely, who died Saturday, May 6, 2023, will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at The Church of The Beloved Disciple, 1310 S. Center St. Ext., Grove City.

Burial will take place at St. Anthony Cemetery, Harrisville.
