Younkins

Marjorie Ann Younkins, 90, of Harrisville, passed away at home on April 14, 2023, following an extended illness.

Born on April 26, 1932, Marjorie was the daughter of the late David Murriel and Helen (Allen) Sopher.

Marjorie graduated from Grove City High School.

She worked as a telephone operator for several years, then worked alongside her husband in their business, Younkins’ Plumbing and Heating.

On Sept. 9, 1952, Marjorie married Eugene Younkins, with whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage.

Marjorie was a member of the American Legion and the White Shrine.

She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was the most generous, loving grandmother and mother. She took great enjoyment in having her kids and grandkids around, and traveling with her husband.

Marjorie is survived by her husband, Eugene; her daughter, Gena Ann Humphrey, and son, Douglas Younkins, both of Harrisville; her grandchildren, Gabriel Humphrey, Brandi Humphrey and Mayla Lawry; and a brother, Donald Sopher.

Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Greg Humphery; and three sisters, Shirley Vinton, Maxine Ryder and Patricia Westlake.

YOUNKINS — Arrangements for Marjorie Ann Younkins, who died Friday, April 14, 2023, are under the direction of JAMISON-MCKINLEY FUNERAL HOME in Harrisville.

A committal service and interment were held at Prairie Cemetery in Harrisville.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
