Robert W. Moore Jr.
Robert W. Moore Jr., 72, of Butler, passed away on April 3, 2023, at the AHN West Penn Hospital.
He was born Aug. 1, 1950, in Butler, and was the son of the late Robert W. Moore and the late Joan Wasson Moore.
Bob graduated from Butler High School and Tri-State University.
He was a jeweler, having worked beside and had followed in the footsteps of his father. He ultimately owned and operated Milo Williams Jewelers until his retirement in 2010.
Bob was a member of the American Gem Society, Pennsylvania Retail Jewelers Association and Downtown Butler Businessmen’s Association.
Bob’s family was always his first priority. He was exceptionally kind, rescuing strays from the side of the road or trying to help those whose lives had gone astray. He loved to make a car go fast and was passionate about building and racing his late model #111 and #411 at Lernerville Speedway. He was happiest off-roading out West and exploring the mountains of Colorado with his wife.
Bob is survived by his wife, Joyce E. Moore, whom he married on May 7, 1983; two sisters, Pam Patterson of Butler and Cheri (John) Stanik of Mars; his nieces, Jessica Robinson and Becky (Jeff) Daw; his nephews, Ryan (Kristin) Patterson, Cole Patterson, Jared Emigh, Zach Emigh, Nathan (Nakia) Emigh, David (Amy) Goslaw and Stephen (Kim) Goslaw; his sisters-in-law, Margie (George) Yost and LaLanda Stromp-Emigh; and his brother-in-law, Robert (Jeryl) Emigh.
Our hearts are broken and our world has been greatly diminished by his loss. Yet we have been immeasurably blessed by having been a part of Bob’s life. His life touched many and he will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known him. If you would like to honor Bob, please consider doing so with a kind deed for others. Start with a smile or call someone you have not reached out to lately. Rescue a homeless animal. Forgive someone who has done you wrong. Make someone smile. Bob would love that.
