Jon Doutt, 76, of Butler, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2023.

He was born in Tarentum on March 20, 1947, and was the son of the late Norman Kemp Sr. and Constance (Doutt) Seft.

Jon was known for being a master gunsmith, excellent machinist, and loved old country music. He was an accomplished musician and longtime member of Pedal Steel Guitar Association. He also enjoyed being a small-aircraft pilot.

Most recently, Jon was self-employed and loved spending his spare time with his family and friends. He was loved and will be dearly missed.

Jon was the father of Charyl Metzler, Jon Doutt Jr., Barbara Metzler and Kathleen Croyle; and the brother of Norman Kemp Jr., Karen Schindler, Constance Kemp and Alice Kemp.

He is also survived by his previous wife, Charyl Peffer; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his companion, Marilyn Bodesheim.

DOUTT — Family and friends of Jon Doutt, who died Friday, March 31, 2023, will gather at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Greenlawn Cemetery for burial prayers.
