Myrtle Stutz
Myrtle “Jean” Stutz, 99, of Butler, passed on to her heavenly home on the morning of Sunday, April 2, 2023, while at home with her devoted husband by her side. She will be reunited with numerous loving family and friends who have passed before her.
Born Aug. 15, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Harvey and Stella (Cozzens) Beltz. She was born in Home, Pa., and over the years lived in Plumville, Pa., Passaic, N.J., Pittsburgh, Penn Township, and since 1970, had lived in Meridian.
She attended Westinghouse High School, and then worked as a waitress at Country Kitchen. Later, she managed the snack bar and deli counters at Sun Drug and Kmart.
Throughout the years, she enjoyed spending time with family; having large family dinners to celebrate holidays; and traveling with her husband on bus trips, in their motor home or in their camper.
Known, loved and already missed by those who call her Hon, Mom, Gram, Grandma, Grandmama, Aunt Jean or just Jean, the beloved matriarch of the family spent her time sipping coffee at the kitchen table and listening to the stories and playful banter of her loved ones.
She is survived by her husband, William Stutz, whom she married Feb. 14, 1966.
She also is survived by her daughter, Georgean (Bob) Abels of Rochester, N.Y.; her son, Mark Hoffman of Butler; her grandchildren, Tami Becker of Rochester, N.Y., Gerri Ann Hoffman of Geneva, Ohio, and Chrissy (Mike) Pollock of Butler; and her great-grandchildren, Cooper, Abby and Sawyer Pollock of Butler.
She also is survived by seven stepchildren; her stepgrandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; additional extended family; her loving neighbors, Joe and Carol; and a special family friend, Ginger DiTullio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, George, Jim and Don Beltz; her son, Ronald Hoffman and his wife, Sandy; and her daughter-in-law, Judy Hoffman.
