James M. Kline, 85, of Butler, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, March 30, 2023, while under the care of UPMC Mercy Hospital, surrounded by his family.

Born July 23, 1937, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Matthew Kline and Bernice Ann Rygielski Kline.

Jim proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Conrad Catholic Church-All Saints Parish, formerly St. Fidelis Catholic Church, where he worked many fish fries. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

Jim leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Vivian “Jeanie” DiBiccaro Kline; his children, Kristie Omstead Kline, Greg (Cherrie) Kline, John (Brenda) Kline, Allison (Linda) Kline, K. Lynn (Tom) Kline Bonnett and T. Sue (David) Kline Schaffner; his 20 grandchildren; his 11 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Patricia (Richard) Kline Tabin.

In addition to his parents and brother, Jim was preceded in death by his son, James J. (Kristie) Kline, in 2011; and his grandson, Shane J. Kline, in 2022.

KLINE — Friends of James M. Kline, who died Thursday, March 30, 2023, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER of Connoquenessing Township, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew. A vigil service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Conrad Catholic Church-All Saints Parish, 125 Buttercup Road, Butler, with the Rev. Dominic M. DiBiccaro as celebrant. Military honors will be held at the church following Mass.

Jim will be laid to rest at St. Michael’s Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jim’s honor to Tunnels to Towers or Saint Jude’s Children Hospital.
