In loving memory of Violet Yuhas whose birthday is March 28.

My mum was one of the quiet heroes of the Greatest Generation.

She was not famous.

Nor did she have her name in the newspaper.

But each and every day, she worked hard as a homemaker and sacrificed all of her life first through the Great Depression and then World War II.

And after that, she and my dad further sacrificed for her children and grandchildren.

She wasn’t seeking the limelight.

She was just trying to do the right thing and help her children to live the American Dream — a dream that she and my dad set as a foundation for their children’s future.

We love you, Mum.
