Joan Kelley Zinkham, of Pine Township, Grove City, passed away on March 26, 2023, after a two-year illness.

Joan was born April 11, 1931, in Bakerstown, one of four children to Ralph and Twila Kelley.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Robert, Curt and John Kelley.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 70 years, Earl “Skip.” Together they were blessed with a daughter, Nancy Graham, and her husband, Steve; a son, David, and his wife, Margaret; three grandchildren, Christopher Zinkham and his wife, Jessica, Michael Zinkham, and Kaitlin Karian and her husband, Peter; three great-grandchildren, Maggie and David Zinkham, and Jane Karian; and several nieces and nephews.

Joan attended Mars High School and matriculated to Slippery Rock Teachers College in 1949, to become an educator. She graduated with a degree to teach mathematics and physical education. She later received a master’s degree from the same college.

Before beginning her teaching career, she married Earl “Skip” Zinkham. Once her children entered into school, she enjoyed a 25-year stint of teaching in the Grove City Area School system.

She had many opportunities to travel and was able to visit all 50 states and parts of Europe. She enjoyed her family, and they will miss her goodness forever.

ZINKHAM — There will be no visitation hours for Joan Kelley Zinkham, who died Sunday, March 26, 2023.

Services will be private and held at the discretion of the family.

Arrangements are under the direction of CUNNINGHAM FUNERAL HOME, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.

Memorial donations in Joan’s name may be made to the Grove City YMCA, 543 E. Main St. Ext., Grove City, PA 16127.
