Janice M. Hicks, 89, of Evans City, passed away on Saturday, March 25, 2023, while in the care of Passavant Retirement Community.

Born March 10, 1934, in Beaver County, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. Rassman and Edna A. Ladebue Rassman.

Janice is survived by her four children, Debra Loper (Dave) of New York, Kenneth E. Hicks Jr. (Carole) of North Carolina, Jeffrey Hicks (Pamela) of Maryland and Beatrice Green (Tim) of Evans City; her eight grandchildren, Dan Loper, Mike Loper (Zoly), Andrew Loper (Jacky), Aaron Hicks (Danielle), Jeremy Hicks, Justin Hicks (Giselle), Joshua Hicks and Danielle Ritenour (Austin); her five great-grandchildren, Luna, Emery, Everly, Briley and Salma; her brother, Joseph Rassman (Jeanne) of Butler; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth E. Hicks Sr.; her three brothers, John Rassman, Robert Rassman and Richard Rassman; and her three sisters, Betty Arbogast, Mary Magness and Edna Nastasi.

She was a faithful member of St. John’s United Church of Christ in Evans City.

Janice was a loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, hummingbirds, crocheting and knitting.

HICKS — Friends of Janice M. Hicks, who died Saturday, March 25, 2023, will be received for visitation from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City, with Pastor Lisa Griffin officiating. Everyone please meet at the church.

She will be laid to rest at Butler County Memorial Park.

Memorial donations can be made in Janice’s honor to St. John’s United Church of Christ in Evans City.
