Twyla Maharg Meeder, 97, of Oakland Township, Chicora, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 24, 2023.

Born April 19, 1925, in Chicora, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Grace (Clingensmith) Maharg.

Twyla was a graduate of Butler High School and then went on to attend Butler Business College. She was an active member of Church of the Living Word for many years.

Twyla is survived by her five sons, Kenneth W. (Vikki) of Boone, Iowa, Keith P. (Kathie) of Strasburg, Va., Melvin B. (Patti) of West Pittsburgh, Matthew E. (Leslie) of Havertown and Phillip J. of Chicora; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, Randall Maharg of Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul R. Meeder, whom she married on June 15, 1948, and who passed away on Nov. 10, 2010, and four brothers.

MEEDER — Family and friends of Twyla Maharg Meeder, who died Friday, March 24, 2023, are invited to attend a visitation for Twyla from 5 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 7 p.m. Wednesday at THOMPSON_MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler. Service will be officiated by Matthew E. Meeder of Grace Chapel.

Burial will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Twyla’s honor to City Rescue Mission, 319 S. Croton Ave., New Castle, PA 16101 or Three Rivers Hospice, 217 N. Jefferson St., New Castle, PA 16101.
