Elizabeth Pitchford

Pitchford

Elizabeth Pitchford, 93, of Cranberry Township, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 16, 2023.

Born June 6, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Ben and Edith Cadle.

She was the beloved wife of the late Rexall Pitchford; loving mother of Kimberly (Tom) Bartell, Kristi (Larry) Draghi and Ricki (Jay) Micucci; dear grandmother of Madison, Sydney (Nicholas), Keaton and Max; great-grandmother of Ruby; sister of Billy Ray (Connie) Cadle; and aunt of Patrick, Neil and Nathaniel. Elizabeth also is survived by loving relatives and friends, who will all miss her dearly.

Libby was a soft-spoken woman of the Earth — at once garrulous and reticent, generous and withholding. She would as easily share her secrets of cultivation as hide her feelings of accomplishment for the lessons she bestowed. Headstrong, yet quiet and unassuming, Libby played a supporting role in the drama of our lives: always there but never the center of attention. She was happy to do what was asked of her but never asked for anything.

Mamaw Libby’s legacy of health, nutrition and nature lives on in her children — and especially her grandchildren — whom she taught the secrets of the Earth when they were still in diapers. Mom, Mamaw, may we share your nurturing wisdom with future generations — starting with precious Ruby, your one and only great-granddaughter. We will miss you.
