Butler County shines at The Meadows

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown piloted Inside Express to a win in the $17,200 championship of the Mary Wohlmuth Memorial for 3- and 4-year old filly and mare trotters Wednesday at The Meadows.

The victory came in one minute, 57.1 seconds over a sloppy surface and gave Inside Express a sweep of the three races in the series.

Brown was also victorious behind LB’s Legacy, a 4-year old mare that captured an $11,500 Conditioned Trot.

Brown was one of seven Butler County residents to contribute to a victory.

Evans City’s Aaron Johnston won with Cholula and Aunt Bee. The latter is trained by Susan Callihan of Chicora and is part-owner with Greg Callihan and Amber Setzenfand, also of Chicora, and Nicole Buchleitner of Rimersburg.

Slippery Rock residents Bill Bercury and Renee Bercury, trainer and owner, respectively, of Warrawee Whisper, earned victory in a $10,500 Conditioned Trot.
