Moniteau grad Patton earns PAC honors
NEW WILMINGTON — Moniteau graduate and Westminster College senior Jacob Patton has been named Presidents’ Athletic Conference Male Track Athlete of the Week.
Patton registered a third-place finish in the 400-meter hurdles at the Connie Shamrock Invitational, running a time of 54.96 seconds. That time currently stands fifth in all of NCAA Division III. He also ran a 15.19 in the preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles, ranking 11th fastest in the country.
Isherwood helps SRU get tennis victory
SLIPPERY ROCK — Butler graduate Teddi Isherwood teamed with Adriana Gonzalez Sanchez to win a doubles match Tuesday during Slippery Rock University’s 6-1 women’s tennis victory over Salem.
The match marked The Rock’s home opener.
Gonzalez and Isherwood won their match, 6-4, as SRU improved to 5-4 on the year.
SRU softball gets sweep of IUP
INDIANA — Slippery Rock University’s women’s softball team improved to 11-9 overall, 2-0 in PSAC West play with a 7-3, 8-0 sweep of a doubleheader Tuesday at Indiana (Pa).
Kelsi Anderson and Alexsa Hurd allowed only three total hits in the two games. Hurd pitched a one-hit shutout in the second game. She collected four hits, a home run and six RBI in that game as well.
SRU hosts Clarion on Wednesday.
