Mary Lou Hoover

Mary Lou Hoover, 89, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023, at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born March 5, 1934, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Ruth (Coots) Franciscus.

Mary Lou was a graduate of Sacred Heart in Pittsburgh, and she was a member of Holy Sepulcher Parish.

She worked at Greenwood Manor later in her life, and enjoyed breakfast club with her friends.

Mary Lou is survived by her four sons, Thomas (Mary Carol) Hoover, David (Kathy) Hoover, Michael (Brenda) Hoover and Joseph Hoover; six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; her brother, Leo Franciscus; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Hoover; and three brothers.

HOOVER — All are invited to attend a visitation for Mary Lou Hoover, who died Saturday, March 18, 2023, from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

A blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Charles Bober of Holy Sepulcher Parish officiating.

Burial will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations in Mary Lou’s honor to the American Cancer Society.
