Brown scores win at Wohlmuth Memorial

WASHINGTON, Pa. — Inside Express, driven by Slippery Rock resident Brady Brown, won her second straight raced in Thursday’s $11,000 second leg of the Mary Wohlmuth Memorial during harness racing action at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Elsewhere on the card, Amelia B Hanover, driven by Shawn Johnston of Evans City, won a $6,700 Conditioned Claiming Pace against 37-1 odds.

26th Cager Classic rosters established

NATRONA HEIGHTS — Highlands High School will host the 26th Cager Classic Basketball All-Star Games March 25. The girls game is at 5:30 p.m., the boys game at 7:30 p.m.

Skills competition — including Three-Point Shootout, Hot Shot and Co-Ed Hot Shot — will take place at 7 p.m. Friday.

Players from Butler, Knoch, Mars and Freeport are among the 44 participating players. Hannah Aldridge and Justine Forbes of Butler, Lauren Atwell and Olivia Donelly of Mars are on the girls East squad, coached by Butler’s Mark Maier.

Nine Shaw and Hattie McGraw of Knoch, Ava Soilis and Melaina DeZort of Freeport are on the girls West squad, coached by Freeport’s Fred Soilis.

James Snyder of Knoch, Zach Clark and Gavin Croney of Freeport are on the boys West squad. Colin Casteel and Ryan Porch of Butler are on the boys East squad.
