Florence McClymonds Barkley, 99, of Middle Lancaster, passed away into Heaven on March 13, 2023.

She is survived by her four children, Patricia Pflug (John), Sue Martin (Bill), Dennis Barkley (Peggy) and Sam Barkley (Sandra); six grandchildren, Oliver Pflug, Nolan Pflug (Brett), Clark Barkley (Kayleigh), Laura Johnston (Andrew), Natalie Chapman (Greg) and Jeremy Barkley (Kristen); and three great-grandsons that she was delighted to meet and hold, Luke Johnston, Braxton Barkley and Carter Chapman. Also surviving are a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Letitia McClymonds; her husband of 54 years, Bob Barkley; two sisters; and three brothers.

Florence served as the bookkeeper for R.O. Barkley and Son for 50-plus years. In her younger years, she was known for her beautiful Christmas cookies, her strawberry patch, flower beds and vegetable gardens.

She was a longtime member of Zion Lutheran Church, where at one time she taught a children’s Sunday school class and served on the altar guild.

Her quiet peaceful ways will be missed by many. She leaves her family with many memories.

BARKLEY — There will be a celebration of life service for Florence McClymonds Barkley, who died Monday, March 13, 2023, to be held Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church, Harmony. Guests may greet the family beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. There also will be a reception with the family in the church social hall after the service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 324 Grandview Ave., Zelienople.

Memorial donations may be sent to Zion Lutheran Church, 557 Perry Highway, Harmony, PA 16037.
