Penny Bacher
Penny Kay Bacher, 63, of Cabot, passed away Sunday, March 12, 2023, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones after a long battle with breast cancer.
Penny was a loving wife, a devoted mother and grandmother, and a strong woman of faith. It would be wrong to say that Penny lost her battle, because she never stopped fighting. She was always determined and fought fiercely with unmatched strength and unrelenting devotion to her family. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like.
Born Nov. 14, 1959, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Wayne Giesler Sr. and Honey Lincoln Giesler.
Penny was an accountant for 30 years for Bacher & Associates, and successfully ran her own tax business out of her home.
She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Hannahstown. She formerly served as treasurer for St. Luke Church and was a pianist at Faith Lutheran Church in Butler, for many years.
Penny loved music and dancing, and she enjoyed drawing and painting. She was known for the spectacular flower boxes she created and placed around her home each year. She was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan and beachgoer, and she especially enjoyed RV camping with her beloved husband.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis R. Bacher, whom she married Sept. 3, 2011; two daughters, Kelly Kimsey and her husband, Richard, of Brentwood, Tenn., and Kayla Gugino and her husband, Jeremy, of Sarver; four grandchildren, Adelyn Gugino, Emery Gugino, Marley Kimsey and Lennon Kimsey; two stepchildren, Alicia Haas and her husband, Jesse, of Sarver, and Nathan Bacher and his wife, Elizabeth, of Butler; four stepgrandchildren, Jayson Haas, Evan Haas, Grayson Bacher and Keegan Bacher; and two brothers, Wayne Giesler Jr. and his wife, Toni, of Fenelton, and Cody Giesler and his wife, Stacy, of Monaca.
Penny was preceded in death by one daughter, Megan Dietz, who passed away Sept. 8, 2005; one granddaughter, Lillie Kay Kimsey; and one sister, Heidi Bringenberg.
