Georgette Metro
Georgette Palcic Metro passed away on Dec. 17, 2022, at the age of 79 in Ocean City, Md.
Georgette was born on Jan. 11, 1943, in Pittsburgh, to Bethel May Krenn Crider and George P. Palcic, and married in Greensburg, Pa.
She was a 36-year business owner of “Sign-Craft” on the boardwalk.
Georgette was married to Joseph Matthew Metro Jr. of Greenfield, Pa., who preceded her in death on March 8, 2019.
She is survived by her three children, Joseph M. Metro III (Mary), and two children, Brook and Joseph M. IV; Valarie/Scott Montgomery, and three children, Sean Obiecunas, Emily Montgomery and Sarah/Joshua Montgomery (great-grandchildren, Gianna and Damien); and Debbie/Kyle Hayes and three children, Tiffany/Andrew Evans, Kyle/Kimberly (great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Sawyer) and Andrew/Teanna (great-grandchildren-Syler, Kenna, Leah).
Extended family to Georgette’s mother, Bethel Crider, were her Aunt Jean of Ocean City, Md.; Phillis “Peg” Horne of Madison, Iowa; and Charles/Ethel Crider of Butler.
Georgette and her aunts worked for many years at Weinstein’s Restaurant in Squirrel Hill. Her husband, Joe Metro, grew up with his sister, Doloras, husband Rudy Cepko, in Lower Greenfield, Pa. They are survived by their five children, Dolores and Rick Munsic, Karen and John Kertes, Rudy and Elisha, Gary and Michael, and Ray and Rachael.
METRO — The memorial for Georgette Palcic Metro, who died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at KANAI FUNERAL HOME, 500 Greenfield Ave., Pittsburgh.
The funeral will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 18, 2023, at St. Rosalia Church, Greenfield Ave., Pittsburgh.
She will then be taken to Deer Creek Cemetery, Cheswick, Pa., where she will be laid to rest with her husband.
