Sara L. Wolfe, 81, of West Sunbury, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Born on May 23, 1941, in West Sunbury, Sara was the daughter of the late Richard A. and Sara Mae (McAnallen) Manke.

She was employed as a custodian for the Moniteau School District, retiring after 32 years.

She was a member of West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school for over 30 years.

She enjoyed bowling, camping, traveling and southern gospel music; she was a den leader for the Boy Scouts. She also loved to go walking, especially at Moraine State Park, where she and her husband walked 566 miles one season.

Sara is survived by her husband of 62 years, David T. Wolfe, whom she married on July 3, 1959; two daughters, Audrey (Scott) Morris of West Sunbury and Kim (Ed) Wade of Clintonville; one son, Michael (Margie) Wolfe of West Sunbury; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-grandson on the way.

She also is survived by three sisters, Gertrude (Frank) Pernicano, Shirley (Don) Rohman and Betty Ann (Larry) Cursey, all of Florida; two brothers, James (Susan) Manke of Florida and William (Vicky) Manke of North Carolina; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers.

WOLFE — A memorial visitation for Sara L. Wolfe, who died Wednesday, March 1, 2023, will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the West Sunbury Presbyterian Church, 215 E. Church St., West Sunbury, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Mary Kitchen officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of WILLIAM F. YOUNG FUNERAL HOME in West Sunbury.
