Richard Zielinski
Richard Robert Zielinski, 65, of Butler Township died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023.
Born June 4, 1957, he was the son of the late Stephen and Anna Zielinski.
After graduation from Butler High School in 1975, Rick attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated with a marketing/business degree. Rick spent most of his working career at, and retired from, Marmon Keystone (Butler) in business development.
He enjoyed being out in his yard gardening and tending to his landscaping. Rick had a true “green thumb.” There was not a plant, flower or shrub that could not be nursed back to health under his care. He loved the ocean and enjoyed his travels to Myrtle Beach and the Florida Keys, one of his favorite places.
His family was very precious to him. He cared for his elderly mother until the very end. Rick was a dedicated son, brother, uncle and friend to all that knew and loved him. He was patient, kind and a great listener.
Left to cherish his memories are his two brothers and their spouses, Stan “Zeke” (Lynda) Zielinski of Butler and Edward S. (Debbie) Zielinski of Pleasant Hills, Pittsburgh; his brother-in-law, George P. Doerr of Butler; eight nieces and nephews, Cathy (Christian) Kengor, Kimberly (Rick) Eyth, Darren Zielinski, Traci (Mark) Laffey, Tiffany Tonini, Christopher (Kristy) Zielinski, Ryan (Michelle) Zielinski and Sean (Lindsey) Zielinski; and several great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his best friend and sister, L. Christine “Chris” Doerr.
ZIELINSKI — Friends of Richard Robert Zielinski, who died Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, will be received from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 East Cunningham St., Butler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 North McKean St., Butler.
Entombment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
