Felix M. “Wimp” Corgnati Jr., 89, of the Butler Junction section of Freeport, passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023, at Platinum Ridge in Brackenridge.

Wimp was born in Butler Junction on June 11, 1933, and was a son of the late Virginia (Vota) and Felix M. Corgnati Sr.

He was a 1951 graduate of Freeport High School.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Felix and his brother, George, owned and operated Arnold Bakery. They were the third generation in the family bakery business.

He was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport. He was a member and longtime trustee of the White Star Club. He was also a member of the Freeport Eagles, Freeport VFW, Freeport Sportsmen’s Club and South Buffalo Sportsmen’s Club.

Wimp enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Felix is survived by his wife of 67 years, Cecilia B. (Nowikowski) Corgnati; his son, Terry Corgnati of Indiana, Pa.; his daughter, Donna, and Keith Blackburn of Sarver; and his son, John Corgnati of Freeport.

He is also survived by five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Debbie Corgnati; his grandson, Brian Blackburn; his great-grandson, Cody Johnson; his brother, Ed Corgnati; and his stepbrother, George Hackl.

CORGNATI — Per the family’s request, there will be no public visitation for Felix M. “Wimp” Corgnati Jr., who died Monday, Feb. 20, 2023.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Freeport, with Msgr. Gilbert Gente officiating.

Burial will be held in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Freeport.
