Jeffrey Gorencic
Jeffrey “Jeff” D. Gorencic, 68, formerly of Butler, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023.
Born in Butler on Oct. 17, 1954, Jeff had resided in Butler his entire life until this last illness. He had fought a valiant battle against cancer for the last several years and finally succumbed to this disease.
Jeff graduated from Butler High School in 1974.
Jeff was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew L. Gorencic and Virginia M. (Gerstner) Gorencic of Butler; and his sister, Joyce E. Carlozzi of Willoughby, Ohio.
Jeff is survived by his sister, Janice L. (Gorencic) Oberdorf of Vandergrift, Pa., with whom he lived during this last battle.
Jeff was an avid golfer up until his illness, and loved smoking cigarettes and drinking beer.
He is also survived by his nephew, Dr. Eric J. Oberdorf of Raleigh, N.C.; his great-niece, Savannah; his great-nephew, Landon; and several cousins.
Jeff worked as a U.S. postal carrier for 30 years, having served the Butler area before retiring.
The family would like to thank Dr. Dobrzynski of the UPMC Hillman Center of Butler, Cindy King, Abby Sides, Biddy Morin and Good Samaritan Hospice (Crystal, Carrie, Renee and Michelle in particular) for their care and support.
GORENCIC — Per the family’s request, there will be no public visitation for Jeffrey “Jeff” D. Gorencic, who died Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of BRADY-CURRAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES in Vandergrift.
